Understanding yield

Yield is an income return on an investment.

To generate the gross rental yield, calculate the gross annual income of the property and divide it by the purchase price. When generating net rental yield, you'll need to take other expenses such as mortgage and rates into consideration.

An area with something for everyone

Due to the quality schools in the area, a large percentage of tenants are families wanting to be in the zone for Meadowbank Primary, Mt Carmel School, St Thomas Primary, Remuera Intermediate, and Selwyn College. Because of this, tenants residing in Meadowbank tend to be of a higher calibre and more long-term.

“Meadowbank attracts a wide range of people as it is suited to professionals wanting to be close to the city with ease of transport, students studying in the city who need the train or bus service, families with young children needing good primary schools, and also retirees who need to have all the amenities close by without having to drive,” says Property Manager, Elle King.
