Growth corridor offering plenty of choice

With its easy motorway access and position in the centre of South Auckland, Manukau is a popular growth corridor for Auckland.

This is largely due to the proximity it offers, both to Auckland CBD and to the industrial heartland of South Auckland. Upgraded railway lines and public transport, shopping facilities, educational facilities, and central freight hubs provide lifestyle, income, choices and affordability.

Manukau is a unique blend of urban, rural and coastal. Encompassing a large area, it is home to a diverse melting pot of different ethnicities, backgrounds and demographics. Residential property choices range from quality apartments with spacious living, to units, townhouses, family homes and lifestyle properties that cater for all walks of life.

Work in the area is also plentiful, with many of the workshops, factories and warehouses in the surrounding suburbs providing employment.

Investment potential and solid rental yield

"Investors are flocking to the area as they are able to almost purchase two properties for the same price that one would cost in the central suburbs," says Brett Trigger, Manukau Branch Manager.

"Yet the properties are still generating rental yields that enable peace of mind returns on investment in the areas of high demand.

"First home buyers also find the area desirable as the affordability factor combined with full size sections and do-up potential provides a plethora of choices for both novice and seasoned home buyers, eager to potentially make substantial capital gains over short time frames."

Cosmopolitan living

Providing close proximity to Auckland Airport and its environs, Manukau City offers fabulous parks, gardens and cosmopolitan living. Going forward, Manukau and South Auckland will continue to play a vital role in Auckland’s economic growth.

Understanding yield

Yield is an income return on an investment.

To generate the gross rental yield, calculate the gross annual income of the property and divide it by the purchase price. When generating net rental yield you’ll need to take other expenses such as mortgage and rates into consideration.
